SAN-J PRODUCTS NOT INVOLVED IN PEANUT RECALL
January 16, 2009

Recently, there has been news of a Salmonella outbreak in Peanut Butter sold in the foodservice distribution system. This issue has been traced to peanut butter produced by Peanut Corporation of America.

The Peanut Butter used in San-J International's Thai Peanut Sauce and Tamari Peanut Dressing is not sourced from, nor produced by Peanut Corporation of America, as guaranteed by our supplier.

The Thai Peanut Sauce, manufactured by San-J International is heated to 85°C (185°F) and held for 30 minutes. The Tamari Peanut Dressing is heated to 96°C (205°F) and held for 10 minutes. Both are hot filled. This heat treatment will destroy any microorganisms present in the raw materials.

In addition, San-J International, Inc. tests all finished batches of Thai Peanut Sauce and Tamari Peanut Salad Dressing for Salmonella, in house.

Again, San-J does not purchase Peanut Butter produced by Peanut Corporation of America, nor is our Peanut Butter supplier connected to the Salmonella outbreak and recall associated with Peanut Butter produced by Peanut Corporation of America.
